I would try again. We were the only folks in the place and dinner was a bit slow. The meals were good and the service was good.

If you only dine at one restaurant in Stavanger, make it Ristorante Allegro. The superb food was complemented by an exceptional Macedonian wine but the best part of a memorable evening was our incomparable host! Drs. Burt and Beth H.
Best Italian restaurant I've been to in recent memory. Best restaurant in Stavanger for sure ... but most don't know about it. Service was excellent and Mamma in the kitchen cooked up a storm at the pace we wanted to eat. She's awesome. The dessert absolutely blew us away. The Panna Cotta was the best EVER, and my tiramisu was so good that I knocked over my wine glass after the first bite. For real.
Our favorite romantic restaurant for over 2 decades have turned into a disappointing experience. Satuday evening was served monkfish, we complained for the first time ever. The fish was way overdone, kind of rubberish and tasted burned oil. We manage to change the fish to another dish for share. Anyway, the waiter went sour....., our table was absolutely ignorered, and for any follow up, we had to go and force him to the table. For the record, the restaurant had only 3 tables to serve. Stay away until owners and staff are replaced....No refund, Total cost 1780.- NOK waisted.
Great atmosphere which brings the ambience of Italy to Stavanger. Food is all superb, good selection of unusual but superb wines from around the Adriatic. Great place to visit with friends or a loved one. A little expensive, but still real value for money for a truely great dining experience. Cannot fault this place, and the icing on the cake is the super friendly service from the owners family.
