What an awesome place. 1. Great food. 2. Very friendly personal 3. Animals is really well looked after and in great condition. 4. Great place to take the kids too for an outing. Really worth a visit.

We have just been to this Sanctuary. What a disappointment!! R158 for 2 pensioners. The signage is bad to non-existent, plants are dead and cages are dirty and some empty!! Lots of cages have no description. A feeling of total neglect. We did not even want to stay for coffee at the restaurant... very sad indeed.
The zoo area itself can do with some gardening, the foliage looks a bit thin and sad, and the delicious monster leaves can do with a wash. The animals seem healthy and very calm so they are probably well cared for. Not sure if they offer tours, but would be nice. Maybe get more close up with the animals. Also, food seems to be on offer throughout the day. Maybe there is a reason for it, but feeding times are usually interesting and could be a valuable addition. The restaurant/coffee shop is better than expected and quite affordable. Overall, a pleasant experience. PS. Some of the primates seem extremely bored with their tiny enclosures and nearly no stimulus. Maybe think of games the visitors can play with the primates that incentevise interaction. Like retrieving pebbles or coins or whatever for a reward in the form of a nut or a grape. Just a suggestion, I'm sure there are better ways out there.

Love this place. The experience was magnificent and the views and garden area is absolutely breath-taking. Was a fun trip and the animals are very entertaining especially for the young ones.
There was no butterflies and many enclosures was empty. Not worth the R80 paid per person. The restaurant area was at least nice.
From cute and cuddly , creepy crawly and slithering snakes, they have it all.
Even without the butterflies (due to Covid flight restrictions), Butterfly World was awesome. Our toddler loved it and so did we. So glad we didn't miss the outside area! (Entrance through aquarium) would love to see it in all its butterfly glory!
