This a wonderful place to have a ceam tea. The proprietor was very friendly helpful and professional. I brought a visiting friend here and we both really enjoyed our time here. There are tables set in the main hall, outside on the flag stones and also inside in the tower closest to the oldest bowling green in Scotland. From the outside Cowane's Hospital appears in a poor state of repair, however on entering the main building you are surprised to find wood paneling, fine oak chairs and a seating gallery. There are information boards and other interesting informative boards telling the story of the hospital. Within the main hall there are set tables and persons enjoying a meal in this august hall. I will add more photo's later. 20181123. General notice. Great little cafe located in an old hospital opposite the church. There is seating inside and also an outdoor area if the weather is good. I had the haggis sandwich which was great. The kids loved thier milk shakes. Fast service and good prices. It is not open all the time though so check during non peak times.
Friendly staff good coffee and don't leave without trying their scones.
