This is another magnificent church in Stockport, some in history class this church as the grandest church in Stockport. This is a grade 1 listed building. History of the church is that the foundation stone was laid in 1893, and the church was consecrated on 25 February 1897. It was designed by Hubert Austin of the Lancaster architectural practice of Paley, Austin and Paley. The church forms part of a group of buildings, also including the vicarage and schools, that were paid for by George Fearn, a local brewer. The total cost of the church and its associated buildings is said to have been nearly 80,000 (equivalent to 8,980,000 in 2019). This is a stunning building inside and outside. A great place of worship to sit and gather your thoughts. It’s a very welcoming church

Beautiful church with fab choir. Wish I was a better singer. Very friendly
First time visiting st George's church, and was impressed with just how large the interior is, and the lovely architecture both internally and external, we were attending my son's baptism which was to be a fully submerged one with a pool erected inside, the vicar her husband and all on the day made it a special day, and what i liked was the fact that all though a baptism is a serious commitment as with the service, there where also humorous times during and after the baptism, we all enjoyed being invited to the parish rooms opposite the church for beverage and home made cakes/biscuits, it made for a day to remember for the friendliness shown by all
Amazing mix of adults, school choirs and brass instrumentals...superb
