A peaceful place for obvious reasons, even though it is right next to a main road but with high stone walls, visited by the occasional walkers with or without dogs and those who come to visit the graves for which they can drive in and park. A large area with mainly older graves is at one end and relatively recent ones nearer the entrances which are kept quite tidy. There are a few well known historical names on some of the old headstones and more elaborate monuments. For wildlife lovers a group of squirrels are usually around, some less cautious of humans than others; and a few birds.

A well kept, beautiful piece of Old Town Stoke On Trent. A cemetery filled with history, love and tragedy. You can't help but be moved by reading some of the heart wrenching epitaphs as you walk through this large, peaceful cemetery. It is sad to see many damaged monuments , not from the passung of time but from the mindlessness of people. It's sad that this is true in many cemeteries around the country, vandalism is a curse.
This historical cemetery has always been quiet and well kept when I've visited. It is always sad to see evidence of vandalism but no cemetery is without that scourge. I have always enjoyed some quiet time, and seen some wonderfully touching and historic memorials when visiting this cemetery.
