Skaill House is a historic manor house in Sandwick parish on Orkney, Scotland. The house overlooks the Neolithic site, Skara Brae, and the Bay of Skaill. It is very interesting to walk through this well maintained manor house and view all of the exhibits. You will notice that aspects of life on Orkney remain in this lovely house. There are a number of paintings, photographs, period furniture and china on display that give an insight to the people that used to live here.

Had a wonderful time! It felt as though we had gone back in time. Very interesting to see how people once lived in Orkney. The furniture and decor is beautiful, and much of the decor is original. The garden is spacious and lush. A lovely experience.

Skaill house is a wee gem. The house itself is packed with history and curios going back centuries making it a great to spend a few hours in. The gift shop is fab with lots of lovely Orkney things to take home. We were also staying at their incredible self catering apartments which are super comfy, beautifully put together and are dog friendly, allowing our pup to spend quality time on the beach daily. It is a fabulous place. ️

Beautifully organised Christmas fair in these lovely surroundings. Will definitely be returning for a good look around in the Spring.

Interesting look around. Nice to see some 'down to earth' books in the library, including my favourite, Three Men in a Boat. The exhibition including photos of the Queen Mother's visits and some of the archaeological finds from the estate are interesting. You can hear the wind whistling down the chimneys on a windy day!

A interesting place to visit that was included with my ticket to Skara Brae. I wouldn't consider this place worth the price of admission on its own but as an interesting side trick it's worth a look.
