Really disappointed in our experience. We rented High Valley Resort (now Kennedy Creek) for a family reunion years ago and had an amazing experience. I knew I wanted to use it for my future wedding. The place has since changed owners and its name to Kennedy Creek Resort. We tried working with them for months to get something planned and they were consistently rude and kept changing expectations/price. I spoke with 2 former mangers who quoted me and then magically were "no longer with them" and went through a chef they also later said "was awful and no longer with us". After months of people being fired(?) and miscommunication, I had to give up my dream of being married there. High Valley Resort was such a treasure and I'm incredibly disappointed in the new ownership. I loved that place and it was a great addition to the Suches community. I hope this was just a moment of growing pains and they will be able to do the place justice.
We stayed there this past week. The cabin was very cute and the scenery was BEAUTIFUL. For the most part we were very happy with our stay. I will say if you're going to stay there dont expect to be able to get ahold of anyone from the property if you need anything. We tried calling the first day we were there because there weren't enough towels and never received a response. Not a big deal. We then called because we couldn't figure out the wifi. Again, no response (and also not a big deal. We were in the mountains and understand wifi is probably spotty). On Christmas even when we were there the power went out. After an hour of it being out we tried calling all of the numbers we were provided just to see if anyone was aware there was a power outage and/or who the power company was for us to contact. Again, no response. I completely understand it was Christmas eve but we were just concerned because it was only 17 outside and the temperature was dropping fast and just wanted a contact number for the power company to make sure they were aware of a power outage. We loved our time there just wish there would have been more communication from the rental managers.
