Excellent hole in the wall takeaway. Snacks cooked to order, coffee and so on. Very good Falafel burger!
Wonderful pub in a beautiful village. Excellent food, fast service, huge portions and the sourdough bread is just amazing. Very friendly and efficient staff. Very good value and we highly recommend it.
Fantastic, COVID friendly, sit in the front garden. Fish & Chips with the Government picking up most of the tab was seriously good food. The tartar sauce was a delight as were the mushy peas. Fish beautifully cooked, although, the "chips" were wedges, skin on and thick, but ... wow very very tasty. No hesitation on a 5 star review, well done.
A truly excellent pub, dog friendly - allowed in the bar and lounge but not the restaurant. Recently refurbished and very swanky, we were the first to arrive on a Monday lunch, but it quickly filled up, and that is always a good sign. Peas soup was lovely, as was the roasted onion sandwich, wish we could have stayed for a bigger meal, but just passing through. The car park at the side is the council run honesty pay scheme, great to explore Lavenham from and then come back to the Cock Horse for a bit of sustenance. The two hot chocolates we had were a little on the tepid side, not what you'd want on cold February Monday, but this was the only gripe, otherwise a place to recommend to all. A little bit pricey, but worth it!
They didn't have a bar menu and the waitress had no idea what kind of drinks were available. So she had to go back to the bar and write down the drinks before coming back and telling us. She also had to come back and confirm 2 starters that we ordered because she didn't have her notepad. Other than that the food was delicious and the staff was very friendly. It had a nice ambiance as well.
Ordered two Haddock and chips on Saturday evening to take out.Ok came with deep fried skin on wedges which were lovely but the fish and batter were outstanding. Tartar sauce and mushy peas were also excellent. Thank you guys, it rounded off a lovely afternoon despite the weather.
I can highly recommend the Haddock and chips. Sadly the Sunday roast is not to the standard it was since losing their Chef. I could honestly say it was one of the best there was but although OK my roast beef was all on the plate and what happened to the lovely Madera gravy sauce? Gone was vegetables served separately and the small extra gravy if required. I wasn't asked for mine or my friends details for test and trace either. What happened to the staff all gone and new ones in their place? Sadly I won't go again for Sunday Lunch to a pub that I have always loved to have a roast like a carvery
