We came to RBC for a mortgage. The lady we met was Sharron. She sounded smart, identified what we needed. Communicated well, I was sold, she was on our side. She offered us a premium of 10%. She said she had private brokers that could possibly beat the 10%. I was a little shocked. Throughout the following conversation she said that she could give us a 5.4% if we borrowed from her directly. Interest rates at that time were 3.47%. This was one week before closing. We were under pressure. Sharron assured us that she would make this happen and she would prepare this application over the weekend. I would just like to quickly mention that at the end of our conversation I not so brightly informed her that we were shopping for a mortgages at two other institutions. She did a hard check twice, 24hrs between each one. Called her 3 days later, she had not yet sent out the application. Long story short Interior Savings proved to be the better choice. What a manipulation.

This bank suffers from a severe lack of communication with its clients. All fine and dandy to close early for a special event but perhaps email your clients like every other bank does, that this is what’s happening. Don’t just post a sign in the window, “closed early.” Or answer your client’s email then this post wouldn’t have happened.
