Grace House provides short break care services for children who have life-limiting conditions and disabilities. Grace House children’s charity welcomes children and young people from across the North East, with complex disabilities, health needs and life limiting conditions. We provide a fun, safe, exciting environment where children can come and live life to the full. Grace House successfully completed the Ofsted registration process in March 2016. This means that we can now provide overnight short break care to children in addition to the daytime activities we have been running since 2015. This milestone would not have been reached, had it not been for the vision, drive and determination of our founder, Kathy Secker, who sadly passed away in December 2015 “Grace House is the missing link in the North East for children like our daughter, Abigail. This facility would allow our whole family to embrace true respite, knowing that Abigail is happy and content. Having visited Grace House and experienced the warmth of the staff, and seeing the brilliant facility we know how happy Abigail will be. She took an instant shine to the surroundings and has constantly talked about Grace House. We know that she will be very happy, which means our family will be happy! This is an inspirational facility!” Our aim is to be a Regional Centre of Excellence. To do this, we will provide the most desirable accommodation the best equipment state of the art facilities the best staff training an ambitious programme of play and leisure activities that all children and young people want to do. This vision is only possible through the generosity of grant making trusts, and the supporters of Grace House, who tirelessly raise funds throughout the year, to ensure that we can offer the very best in specialist support for severely disabled children.
