FISIP Ideas Matter is one of the vital sub-event under the major agenda of FISIP’s Dies Natalis celebration. For five consecutive years since 2014, FISIP Ideas Matter present as national essay competition held by the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, University of Airlangga. Starting 2018, the event strives to reach much bigger scale and impacts by generating opportunities for international university students from around the world to exchange ideas regarding thematic everyday life’s social issue and challenges with broad range of academic perspectives available. Furthermore, FISIP Ideas Matter has been held as international competition since it’s fifth year and onwards. The participants will engage in multiple educational and cultural agendas, such as essay presentations, lecturing from highly credible academics or practitioners, educational city tours, and gala dinner. Albeit primarily established as essay competition, FISIP Ideas Matter began formulating new line of competition to facilitate ranging forms of idea-exchanging amongst the youth. Over the years, FISIP Ideas Matter hopes to encourage the global youth to make positive changes in the world and experience unforgettable moment of fondness from the people with different backgrounds they have come to meet.
