Though Suri is the district headquarters of Birbhum district, It is an old small town,it may be said a big-size compact village, roads are narrow comprising of carriage path & very very narrow foothpath. Now, most of the important roads of this town are shamelessly ((more than 50'/.area) permanently occupied by the un-authorised various business persons. Municipal authority, district administration,Police are nothing but the Silent spectators. Accidents are occurred frequently, Public in general are being deprieved of getting their constitutional right of freely walking on the roads of the town Suri for a long time. M.M.
