Friendly, extremely knowledgeable and a pleasure to deal with. The owner, Barry helped us not only learn more about what we needed but with zero pressure to buy. Focus was on ensuring we made the best decision for our needs. Would highly recommend.

This shop is a) busy, b) professional, c) helpful. Busy because it does good work, it requires an appointment for most jobs outside of simple flat-tire repair. The work they do is well-priced, well-done, quick and on schedule -- and as thorough as you request. I swear Barry can do three things at once, including being pleasant to ill-tempered, dumb or aggressive phone inquiries. If you want the best, call and book your bike in. Don't drop in with an instant-repair the day before you leave on vacation. There is someone in line before you.
I work out but have not bought a bike in 20 years. I do not cycle and felt very intimidated walked into a bike shop. I am 6"3 220 to put that into perspective. Barry spent time showing me how gearing works and fitting me. He also tried to "downsell" me in that he said for what I wanted to use the bike for I did not need anything fancy. On another occasion when I brought my daughter in he said she was in between sizes and to not invest in a new bike just yet. He doesn't up sell and I like that Although we did not buy bikes my wife did. I knew Barry would fit her with the right bike. I took Barry's stoic demeanor the wrong way the first time I was there. I hope you do not make the same mistake. Know you are in good hands and he will not sell you something you don't need.
Excellent bike shop. Friendly relaxed environment. Caters to all users. Good smart young man for a mechanic. Definitely recommend.
As others have said, one employee (the younger man) has terrible customer service. Everytime I've gone in he has been rude and dismissive. When answering questions he talks down to you as though you are an idiot for asking the question. When I experienced his behavior I was absolutely shocked as I was prepared to spend 1500 on a new bike; I can only imagine how much other business his attitude has turned away. I usually like to support local businesses, but I'd recommend staying away from South Surrey Cycles.
The guy needs customer service 101... he acts like customers are a bother... LoL... I ended up being the one to help a woman in the store who really wanted to buy a new bike but needed lots of advice. She even said right in front of him, "oh money's no issue" but he was totally not helpful--to the point of being rude. Don't know how small stores can literally afford not to be friendly--but neither of us will be going back there!
Very condescending on the phone
Owner was pretty rude, and unhelpful, but the young guy there tried to help. I won't be going back.
