This place is so wonderful! We worked with Leslie T. on a number of items throughout our home build and now for some landscaping stone, as well as an outcrop for our home address boulder and we couldn't be happier with the service and product. Highly recommend. :)

Sales consultant Lisa D provided very knowledgable, friendly and professional customer service. We will certainly work with her again.

As part of a patio project, I ordered 2 pallets of Lannon flagstone through Halquist. When it arrived, one pallet of stone was as expected. The 2nd pallet was pretty gnarly and sharp on both sides. Not ideal for being walked on. I called Halquist, and within a few hours, my salesman Daniel arranged for a new pallet to be brought out free of charge. Great service, can't thank Daniel enough!

If you are a home owner don’t bother. If you are a contractor don’t bother either. Halquist basically has a monopoly in the area and does whatever they want. I went in to learn about retaining wall products and some veneer stone products. At first I was put with an associate that had no clue what they were talking about. I asked for a more experienced sales person. The manager of the Franklin store ended up reluctantly showing me around. He was dismissive, condescending and disrespectful. If I wasn’t pressed for time I would have left right then and there. I spent 45min just driving to the location and need to get my materials ordered, so I went against my judgment and stayed. You would think they would want to try and sell you their products. I was repeatedly handed confusing brochures and dismissed. After much poking and prodding was able to get enough information to make an educated decision on what product to buy for my wall. I purchased 10 tons of wall block. Fast forward 5 weeks. My wall is almost done. I need about 1000lbs more wall block to finish. I call ahead to make sure it’s in stock. I’m told it is. I tell them my plan to come pick it up. I drive 45min with a trailer to pick it up. They don’t have a single block in stock. Ok mistakes happen. The real problem was that the managers attitude again. He pretty much blew it off. Instead of trying to immediately find a solution for me he started spouting off excuses and telling me about how their inventory system sucks. Isn’t that reason enough to go verify visually when someone calls about pick up a specific item?? Unprofessional and they don’t care. I talked to Bill Halquest about it and he just blew me off. No apology. All I got was “thank you for your feedback”. The problem is systemic. If you have other options for materials use them!

Ordered a specialty block at their Sales Office, was told it would be a week. Sure enough, got a call today it was 'ready for pickup.' Great. Drove to their Sales Office (which has a huge yard/quarry behind it), was told it was at the Ideal yard I'd never heard of. And which had closed 10 minutes ago. Which I had nearly DRIVEN BY on the way, and could have easily picked up, but for their wrong instructions. A totally wasted trip. I'd expect after 80 years, the business would have learned how to make a proper phone call. WHO WHAT WHEN WHERE WHY. They missed the 'where' and 'when' part. If Wal-Mart calls saying my order is 'ready for pickup,' I go to Wal-Mart. Not Walgreens. Not JC Penneys. DUH. My disappointment was met with 'sorry.' Nothing more. Maybe contractors know the details of buying stone, but regular folk should stay away. Unless you know EVERYTHING about this business. Update: I picked up my block today, Brian was very helpful and professional, helped me load my block SAFELY in my car. I was indeed rear-ended on the way (no damage worth talking about, stone didn't break due to Brian's good instructions). But my instructions to have 1 side polished, ignored. I had a block of... maybe limestone, certainly not granite, certainly not marble. Well, I'm TIRED, I'll just Seal-Coat the exposed side, make it look shiny, 14.95 for a can. Score: On Location On Time: Fail What I ordered: Fail Dimensionally correct: succeed If you wish more information, my email is jsainio (at) es bee see global (dot) net If you work for Halquist and think I'll flip, be aware, I practice law, and have collected damages for fake services from vendors before. Being retired, I have LOTS of time on my hands.
