Brilliant afternoon raku firing. Lovely people, lovely place. If you haven't visited it's a must lots of different art classes and lovely cafe.
Big thumbs up for Eastcott Studios from me. I've been going to the drop-in sessions for quite a while now and Jo has always been very welcoming. She works extremely hard to show and teach newbies the joys of working with clay, with techniques such as slabbing, pinching, hand building and throwing. Always done with a smile and lighthearted, friendly approach. I would definitely recommend anyone to give it a go...!!
I came across Eastcott Studios by accident but the classes changed my life for the better. Jo is a fantastic person who is extremely helpful. She’s very relaxed and the studios have a lovely atmosphere, but at the same time she is very organised. I had A preconceived idea that I would end up making a little dish, but on my first lesson I showed interest in the fairy houses and Jo asked me if I would like to try making one! I was thrilled that she trusted me enough to have a go. After a few sessions it was finished and I was very pleased with the result Nine months on and I’ve gone from strength to strength and I’m even managing to sell a few items. None of this would have been possible without Jo’s kindness, enthusiasm and great sense of humour. The studio is very well equipped and has recently had a makeover. Everything is provided and at the present time it’s been adapted for safe social distancing. Many many thanks to Jo and all the lovely people I’ve met over the last few months.
I have had many an enjoyable time exploring different techniques of working with clay with the help from Jo, who was really friendly and helpful and encouraging when it didn’t go quite as planned.
