Not impressed ! As someone that uses Howdens regularly as a supplier of my business I was extremely disappointed by the Swindon branch and the complete lack of manners and decorum that the staff there held. I visited the store with my customer to show her the sample of flooring she’d seen online and wanted to purchase, when we arrived at the store before we were even greeted, we were asked if we had a appointment which hasn’t been a issue in any of the Bristol branches I’ve visited recently. When we answered no she then went back into the office area and another employee came out and again asked if we had a appointment , she then stated they had someone coming in at 11 ( which was 10 minutes away) and that we’d have to leave at that point. I was mortified by this response. Again I informed the employee that we’d just come to look at the flooring sample, she then returned to the office area and a different member of staff appeared only to reiterate that there was someone coming at 11 and we had to be out by then. He then told us where the flooring samples where kept and left us to it . We literally took 3 minutes to find the one my customer had seen online , she liked the flooring and we’d have placed the order there , but none of the staff seemed to be interested in the SALE . So we promptly left. Needless to say I will be taking my business to another branch, I won’t be taking future customers to that branch as they were a poor example of the Howdens I know and the high level of service I have received in everyone of the Bristol branches.
