If you’re in the market for some earth-shattering, knock your socks off, life-changing coaching for you or your business, look no further. I stumbled across Michael Sgro Leadership Coaching’s social media feed last year, and his services have changed my professional life. I’ve used his services for business coaching (using Extended DISC), emotional intelligence, and multiple retreats for my team. I wholeheartedly support Michael as a change-agent for both business leaders and organizations. We need more empathy in this world, and Michael Sgro Leadership Coaching has the style and content to deliver that in a big way. Michael is a community asset and will be an integral part of my business for years to come.

Michael is an energetic and empathetic trainer of leaders! I have known him for over 25 years. He has vast experience in personal development, team dynamics and relationship management. Michael is the kind of person who should be teaching a mandatory course to all managers and employers. I highly recommend him as a consultant to help your business or not for profit to make it to the next level.

Thursday after Eight O'Clock, I passed by the corner of Jefferson and Warren where Michael Sgro and his team were moving around furniture. I opened the door, pretending to go inside. “Too early?”, I said to Michael, who met me at the door. “Too early. We're cleaning up after Seven Strangers at Dinner”. Which is a dinner held biweekly at his offices, called il Salotto, Italian for “The Parlor”. I haven't attended the strangers' dinner yet, but I have enjoyed the endless pictures posted of seven people who were strangers at il Salotto only once. He mentioned that a friend of mine had attended. I smiled. I knew when I introduced my friend to Michael, my friend would be in good hands. I was too early for International Happiness Day, a reason for a little gathering Wednesday morning at il Salotto. The first day of Spring is a good day to declare a world wide day for Happiness. Today, Wednesday morning, I passed by the corner and saw Michael making preparations on the way to my bus stop. I had decided to go straight to the office, but I was happy walking on by the parlor, on my way. Buildings dressed in shadows, skyline red with the dawn. Off to the office where the day awaits, Wednesday awaits, the work awaits. Who really knows what awaits on the second floor at my desk by the conference room. I have to think about the reality of spring and the promise of summer to follow. How do I want to greet the greening of the tree boughs, the coloring of the garden petal by petal? Ah, this weekend is maple sugaring weekend at Dutch Hill, Tully New York. That makes for a happy visit. Making ready for spring and summer. That takes planning and care.

One of my favorite movie quotes is from Ferris Bueller's Day Off where he says, “Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.” I feel like this quote applies perfectly to what Michael Sgro offers with his #ProfessionalAdulting series, as he spotlights some important areas for personal growth that can often be overlooked or undervalued. It's easy to get so caught up with your day to day responsibilities that you forget to dedicate time to introspectively assessing the way you approach your work, and life for that matter, in a more holistic sense. The thought-provoking conversations that Michael facilitates evoke some great perspectives from the others in the room and allow for you to take away several meaningful new approaches to being a more conscious and effective professional. A fun and engaging way to challenge yourself to think critically!

Attending the Professional Adulting workshop has been one of the best decisions I have made in my young professional career to date. While we have discussed topics such as diplomacy/discretion and the importance of instilling empathic leadership in a corporate environment, I have been able to network with like-minded individuals (across industries) who also prioritize their professional development. Michael Sgro has continued to be resilient in helping me find vision in my career trajectory and I will continue to utilize him as a contributive asset in all of my future endeavors.
