Orange Hacker’s Association is founded by the students of first batch in MS Cybersecurity program at College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science under guidance of Professor Kevin Du as advisor in August, 17. Orange Hacker’s Association aka OHA is a community focused on cybersecurity. OHA exist to learn, teach and collaborate. We are affiliated with GSO at Syracuse University. Our motive is to build a community to learn, teach and collaborate among themselves to achieve knowledge and awareness in the field of cybersecurity. When we use the word cybersecurity that doesn’t mean our activities will only be concerned about security. Our activities will also be focused on understanding all aspects of technology so security can be a part of everything and not just an additional measure. We choose word ‘Hacker’ in our title for two reasons, first, we wanted to change the notion in which word ‘hacker’ is being used now days and second it is popular and catchy keyword to be looked for. 'Hacker' means an individual who knows everything about a system and can use his knowledge to achieve anything feasible from the system. It’s not necessarily bad so being a hacker is not bad but we have to be a ‘White hat hacker’ and work within laws.
