I got the Shrimp and broccoli.5 pieces of shrimp in salty sauce with uncooked broccoli. My Chicken Satay was chicken jerky. Very tough and salty. They forgot to deliver my chicken wings and the re-delivery is taking over an hour. We paid for what we didn't get and they're taking their sweet time getting it right. The Miso soup was lightly flavored hot water, lame at best. The guy answering the phone could barely understand me and the delivery charge was monumental. I'll never order from this place again and you shouldn't either. They are HORRIBLE!

Do. Not. Eat. Here. This used to be a great place....but it's now one of the worst out there. (And I mean globally speaking). By any standard this place should be closed. Not clean. Not good. It may not even be food.
DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS RESTAURANT, ESPECIALLY FOR DELIVERY. I paid 25.70 for a whole bunch of nasty food that didn't include any of the meat specified in the dish. This is a complete rip off and when i called to try to get corrected food they refused to give me the correct food without me paying for a new dish
Ordered food at 730 on a Friday night, lady on the phone said 30-40mins for delivery(to university hospital, 2miles away)... food finally got here at 846pm (and hour and 16 mins later)... The worst part was that it was the wrong food! When I called back I got a man on the phone who claimed to be 'in charge'. Told him my complaints and he said 'so what do you want? More food and free?' I said this would be OK to correct the issue. He laughed and said something that sounded like 'I don't think so' as he hung up the phone. DO NOT order food from here. The only person who speaks understandable English is the delivery driver. He also is the only one with manners, respect or integrity.
The menu boasts a wide variety of Asian cuisine, both authentic and Americana style. This is the best restaurant to order outside of your comfort zone.
The restaurant discriminates against Chinese customers. They have a To-go menu with everything 50cents-1 cheaper than the For-here menu. But if the restaurant owners know that you are Chinese, they will charge you with the same price of the For-here menu even when you order it To-go. One of its drivers is very rude, he doesn't give you change and automatically charge you extra tips, even though you were already charged 2 delivery fee by the restaurant.
Szechwan Village offers a variety of chinese, thai, and japanese food, all done completely terrible and unappetizing. Definitely the worst chinese delivery I have had in Iowa City. And please, seriously, don't even think about getting thai food here, thai spice or thai flavors is what you want in Iowa City. I ordered a curry and it was basically raw green peppers, giant chunks of onion, and rubbery chicken in something that was nothing close to resembling the flavor of a curry. Ordered appetizers also.. the pot stickers were thick and rubbery, and the crab rangoon was almost impossible to chew. Everything that I've tried from here has been way (seriously, WAY) below par. Delivery time was slow and unfriendly as well. There are so many better choices in Iowa City, please don't make the same mistake I did!
This place has gone downhill in the last few years. Not good.
