Sarah was everything I hoped for and more in a doula! From the first time we met I could tell she would be a calming and confident presence throughout my birth. In the midst of a very long labor, she was not only helpful in navigating my options, but she was also fun and easy to spend time with- a very important quality in a labor support person! Sarah was connected to the labor and delivery staff and was able to advocate for me. Without her, I am positive I would have had an unwanted / unnecessary intervention at some point along the way. Her photos we're absolutely incredible and captured moments I will forever cherish. I cannot recommend her enough!

We knew Sarah was the perfect fit for our birth the day we met her. She was everything we were looking for- informed, professional, kind, flexible and non-judgmental. I was in the stage where I had read so much information, my head was spinning trying to make 'decisions' on how I wanted to plan my birth. Sarah helped me realize that anything can happen, and as long as I feel empowered by my decisions as situations came my way, it would all be okay. She brought a sense of peace to the unknown, and I felt like I had someone on my side every step of the way. When I went into labor, she brought such an amazing energy to the room. She helped my husband be the most supportive he could be, and watched over every medical decision and made sure I understood what was going on. Throughout the entire process, I was never afraid (in what some would think were some scary moments) and was able to enjoy every moment knowing that she was by my side helping me through things as they came. Sarah really treats her clients like family, from the in home meet ups, to the support postpartum, I felt as though it was such a privilege to have her. From a medical standpoint, Sarah was more knowledgeable than most nurses when it came to suggesting plans of action to prevent further interventions. I really believe I was able to achieve a vaginal birth because of her suggestions, and I felt she really was doing everything she could to keep me and my child safe while sticking to my birth plan as much as possible given each situation. Having a 3 day birth was not easy, but Sarah stood by us throughout the whole thing. She was like a guardian angel and I will forever look back at my birth as a positive, empowering and happy moment in my life and she played a huge role in that.

Sarah was there when we needed her, knowledgeable, calm, and helpful. She empowered my husband to be helpful and confident through the harrowing process of birth. She's everything we sought in a doula.

I am writing this in hopes that perhaps someone will see why having a doula is not a \want\ but a \NEED\. Sarah was my doula on June 11th 2020 when my son was born. Due to covid19, my mom was unable to attend, which left me in a state of panic. You see, I have anxiety, and typically, my mother is the only one who understands when I get into \panic mode\ and she can calm me. Well, my labor had a few \bumps\ which caused anxiety. Sarah immediately jumped into action and calmed me down. She along with my midwife..err..midhusband (he's a male midwife!) and the awesome nurses I had all together really calmed my fears and made my birthing experience one that I can truly say was the best I have ever had. I truly mean it. So on the fence about hiring her? DO IT!!!

I found Sarah through positive reviews in the Tacoma Cesarean & VBAC support group on Facebook and I felt confident after looking further into her credentials that she would be the right doula for me. At that time I had about 3 weeks to go before the baby’s due date and I should have thought about hiring a doula much sooner but thankfully Sarah was able to take me on as a client so I hired her on the spot. Going into the birth I felt more confident and prepared to have a successful unmedicated VBAC than I would have without Sarah. When I was in active labor she met us at Saint Joseph’s exactly when we needed her to. She has excellent rapport with the staff there and my doctor (Malmberg) knew her too. From that point forward it wasn’t a long or complicated birth but I was still so grateful I had Sarah there by our side. Thanks to her the whole experience was as stress free as possible, for not only myself but my husband too. And if you want her to she takes photos right after the baby is born so it’s like having a doula & photographer in one. If I am blessed with another baby in the future I would most definitely hire Sarah again.
