A place for the locals. This isn't your average tourist hang out. Its really a place used for locals who work in the city and travel back at weekends. It's basic in its truest form, no glamour but plenty of atmosphere. A lot of regulars use this as its cheap, in being cheap as one reviewer put it.. "you get what you paid for". If your young yravelling on a budget and a smoker and don't mind an adventure then it's perfect, but remember it caters for locals, so don't get on your high horse about language. I am travelling with a troup of performance artists from all over the world, so we had each other. Personally l hate the smoking, don't mind cracked mirrors or missing bath tiles, but generally clean capsule and bedding. They are strict about getting out at 9.30am, but you can have time in communal space, but it is also a smokers paradise. It's near all the temples, river and train stations into Tokyo. Also amazing view from toilet balcony if you need fresh air plus a seven eleven opposite. The capsule has free Wi-Fi.

You get what you pay for. Best part was clean sheets, pretty cool bathroom, sauna, and friendly staff. If you are on a budget it isn't bad since it's close to cool bars and like right outside the asakusa stop!

Hi, some English is spoken here... you are in Japan though... You want cheap? Right place, if you plan well. You want English? Try other countries. GREAT JOINT! I left a few ash trays on the second floor. Free WiFi there...

This is a nice cheap place. Its old and small but clean. The bathroom and the room are small but you have access to the hotel onsen ( nice experience ) If you are looking to sleep in a cheap well situated place this is good

We stayed here mainly just for the novelty of this Japanese experience - I can't say that I would ever like to do it again! The hotel is very old and dated. The staff don't speak English very well so it was a little frustrating checking in and understanding the process. You have to use a coin locker for your baggage. The capsules are bigger than what I anticipate which included a radio and television. For privacy there is a blind. I actually got really hot during the night and wasn't sure if there was any way to adjust temperature so I had to sleep with blind open (which was a bit uncomfortable as you are in a room with 20 so other capsules). In the morning it was very loud as you can hear everything/everyone from all the other capsules especially when you are all waking up at different times. The bathroom's are old and don't seem exceptionally clean. Upstairs is a small common area with an outside balcony on the roof which is nice (had a beer up there from one of the vending machines in the hotel). It's very smoky though which was unpleasant but I'm not used to it coming from somewhere where it is illegal to smoke inside restaurants/clubs/bars/hotels etc. The location was a great area to some local sights and also very close to railway stations. Overall it was fun for the experience but I would never really consider staying in one again!

THE HOSTEL IS CLOSED. There is fences all over the first floor, and the phone number is not assigned anymore.
