They have some affordable options below 7 and below 10. Specifically, the over rice options. It looks like you're only getting half a plate of food, but even that amount is very filling and so flavorful. I've been here twice and have been satisfied with the experience both times. The chicken leg over rice is crispy and nicely marinated. It's so flavorful. The second time, I got the braised sliced pork over rice. The pork fat was so soft and buttery and left me feeling very full. I had it as a late lunch and ended up not eating dinner after that. They're a cash only restaurant, though

Since 1994, Taiwanese Specialties has been making authentic Taiwanese food in Queens. Having spent some time in Taiwan and having been spoiled with some of the best Taiwanese food, I can confidently say that there's a reason this place has thrived for so long - even through a pandemic. Their Salt Pepper Chicken was amazing - it lost a little crunch after my 30 minute ride back to the apartment, but the flavor was exactly what you'd hope for at a Boba shop or a night market in Taipei. The Pork Chop Rice was also perfect - that flavor was everything you want in this dish, and the bites near the bone were the best. The 3-cup chicken and Glutinous Rice with Sausage were also both really good, and while the broth in this Beef Stew Noodle Soup was a bit different than I'd had previously, the noodles were great and the beef was tender and flavorful. Enjoy!
The food is good to eat for lunch
This place is a gem. They have lunch specials order 2 items and soup for 20 dollars. Me and my uncle love clams with basil. Have had the fried scallops their noodles. Tofu soup with egg all worthy to try.
