I found The Sapphire Ring Company online, but ended up speaking directly to one of the wonderful owners, Dixie, on the telephone prior to purchasing the ring sight-unseen. First, this entire transaction was a dream...perfect from beginning to end...Amber via email and Dixie over the telephone (and David from behind the curtain!) -- I couldn't have been happier about everything that was discussed, shown, or described! The sapphire in this ring took on a color that didn't appear to be the same stone in 2 photos I saw on a different website, so Dixie pointed me to their website where I could see a video of the actual ring outside (e.g., natural lighting) and it was *exactly* the shade of "canary" I had hoped for. Next, we negotiated price and I paid online; four days later, I received the beauty you see in this photo on my ring finger via FedEx, all receipts, GIA certs, and paperwork as I was promised. I immediately put it on and it fit exactly as it should; what you see is a 3.85ct natural yellow sapphire set in platinum with side diamond tapers and baguettes...a really beautiful stone in a beautiful, timeless setting that looks extraordinary in person (size 6, for reference). Finally, I cannot imagine working with nicer people or happier about supporting a small business to find a piece of jewelry for the "heirloom collection" I am creating of jewelry pieces to pass along to my daughter one day. I meet with both Dixie & David to look at selection of sapphire engagement rings( she said yes!) I had seen on their website, and I liked the fact that every sapphire had its own GIA report. In the days of the internet, it's important to know what’s real. When I made an appointment to see the rings in person they all looked so much better than I had imagined (making my choice harder than I expected). I had never seen so many natural sapphire rings! I finally decided on a beautiful blue cushion cut sapphire set into a platinum diamond ring. I needed it sized down after being measured, and only took a day before I could pick up my new ring! After I received my new engagement ring I did take it to a local gemologist for appraisal, for my insurance company and peace of mind. I was surprised the value was over double what I had paid. This was the best experience I could ask for. The quality of each ring was much higher than I had seen at any other jewelers and I couldn’t think of any company who had so many natural sapphire rings to choose from. Both Dixie & David were professional and had so much knowledge on sapphires. If you are in the market for sapphire jewelry this is were you go. I couldn't be happier & will hopefully be back soon for a custom sapphire necklace I saw. Thank you both !!!!
Dixie has been informative, helpful, prompt. Customerservice is the best you will find anywhere. Prices are very fair and quality is superb. Everything has been as advertised and above board. Highly recommend
I had a custom ring made with a purple sapphire I purchased from the Sapphire Ring Co . The sapphire came with a GIA report and the ring I ask the company to design for me came with a cad drawing . The ring was simply beautiful and better than I expected and their prices were really reasonable. With the GIA report and the appraisal that was done by a GIA gemologist I was very happy and I would highly recommend this company. The employees were great to work with and I had the ring appraised at another company and the ring was appraised over double of the price I paid .
I had a positive experience with David and Dixie at first, but the end of my engagement ring journey was frustrating. Dixie and david took the custom design setting I had brought to them and they have replicated my ring multiple times leaving it unspecial. I had my concerns when they originally drafted a miniature of my ring, but they had promised me that they had only made one and will only make one as a mock up to Insure mine was perfect. I felt okay with that as I truly wanted a one of a kind engagement ring but also wanted to make sure their craftsman ship met my expectations. They have obviously rescinded their promise as they have now been consistently selling the same setting on their website with the same stone shape. Aside from that experience, before I even received my ring, Dixie had been asking for payment in full. At that point I had not even seen the finished product and felt uncomfortable with her request. She had mentioned custom orders are not refundable so their was no difference paying now or later. This was very large purchase for my fiancé and we were very nervous about paying in full without seeing the ring, not to mention we live in Tampa as well so they wouldn’t need to risk any sort of potential loss through shipping. We would have paid upon completion If they held up the end of their promise as not to be recreating my ring over and over again, I wouldn’t be posting this, but I feel that custom made jewelry should be kept private and custom and I’m truly disappointed.
I commissioned a ring to be made for my fiancé by Sapphire Ring Co, I was skeptical if they would be able to create what i had in my mind as far as design and quality. They exceeded my expectations! I usually don’t leave reviews but the finished ring was STUNNING. Thank you Sapphire Ring Co, your quality, expertise and customer service was exceptional. I’ll be doing business with you again in the near future.
DON'T TRUST THIS COMPANY. I purchased a 10K ring which I saw in person in Tampa and the seller sent me the ring after having it sized with a different central stone with significant defects. All attempts to contact the seller to send the product back in 4 days unconditional return period failed because they would not answer their phones. THEY (DAVID AND DIXIE CROSS) ARE NOT HONEST.
had a custom necklace made to complement my engagement ring from them a few years ago. result is stunning. dixie & david made the whole process so fun and easy. will always be my first choice for all fine jewelry in the future!!
