Terrible customer service in the check in area at United Airlines Tampa International Airport. Around 11:45-12 on 9/8/2019, my family and I were checking in for our flight back to New Jersey. At the machine a message popped up stating that we needed a representative to come by and scan his badge in order for us to get our boarding passes. My father went over to ask for help from one of the reps. The Rep came over to help us with a light hearted joke about my dad not wanting to fly with our family back home. After that he told us that our personals were not considered personal baggage, since the height was a little bit bigger than the recommended height. Since we were basic economy, we couldn't have carry-on without paying extra. We told him that when we came from Newark, the representative over there told us that our personal was fine. After that, the Rep. started belittling my father saying, "would you go 70 on a 50 mph road". Obviously not! He then continuously acted rude by constantly making my father seem stupid and left before we could get our issue with our boarding passes solved. Again we stated clearly that the rep in Newark did not tell us about our baggage not being personal. As he came back we asked for his name, but he completely disregarded our question as he was scanning his badge to get our boarding passes. He kept straying away from us, but I was able to get his name which was John H. Thank god we had our other family there so they could take our "personal" and claim it as carry-on since they had Premier Access .

Wish I could rate lower. Honestly one of the worst customer services I have ever encounter. Paid for business class seats upon boarding they said seats not available and got this seat that no one had cleaned after previous flight. I asked to have cleaned and airline personnel told me they were busy and came back thirty minutes later and gave me a napkin.
Left us stranded and no refund. Won't use there services ever again...
I accidentally picked the wrong date for my flight. Good customer service. They canceled my reservation and gave me a refund so that i could buy the ticket for the right date.
The gentleman up front for United Airlines was named Greg Tucker and this man single handedly improved our 12 hour delayed flight. He is as squared away as one man can be and helped my wife, almost 2 year old and I with so very much including meal vouchers and a stay at the Marriott. He should most definitely be given a day off or something. Haha, we appreciate it my man!
United customer service was very polite. The airline on the other hand... is all about up charging you TO DEATH !! This is the last time we will fly with this airline.
Though the flights were cancelled and there was general chaos on the day I was flying out, the staff were very professional and helpful.
