I would highly recommend you avoid this place like the plague if you value your safety. I am a FULLY QUALIFIED MECHANIC and I usually do all the work on my families cars myself. Sadly I had to go into hospital and whilst in, the brakes on my daughters car started making a grinding noise. Now because brakes are very important, she took her car to Halfords as I wasn't able to do them for her. A few days after having them done she got into an accident as the car FAILED TO STOP whilst she was braking. I quickly found out what the cause was - One of brake callipers had not been bolted onto the carrier correctly meaning the brake on that wheel wasn't working. As a result, the car didn't stop in time and she rear ended another vehicle. Luckily no one was hurt. She was coming off the motorway at the time and managed to reduce the speed from 70 to around 20-30 on impact. I will update this review as I get more information as the issue is currently being dealt with by the insurer. This could take many months but figured I needed to tell people this NOW before it happens to someone else! Note to Halfords: Don't reply with your usual condolences and ask us to contact your customer services etc, as I stated above, the insurers are dealing with this and they will be the ones contacting you

I recently booked my car in for an MOT at the WATLING STREET HALFORDS AUTO CENTRE, Tamworth. The staff were polite, professional and informative. They were able to schedule additional work required for my car to pass it's MOT within the same day. Overall excellent service. I intend to use their services again.

I leave very few online reviews however I felt that I needed to leave a review for this centre. It was the first time that I had used Halfords for any type of servicing or MOT as I usually use a local independent and was very apprehensive having read some of the reviews online, however having stupidly forgotten the MOT renewal date I needed an MOT that I could book online at 10pm the night before and Halfords was the only possibility. I have to say that I was very surprised. The staff were great and very helpful, Covid rules were strictly adhered to and they did not try to sell me any unneeded services. The MOT was carried out and passed with no fuss. I am sure that each branch is only as good as the staff employed there, but I would recommend this branch without hesitation
