This is a nice area connected to several trails, piers, and a little beach. We took the trail which starts past the amphitheater and runs along the water for a while. There were a lot of really nice views of the water. The walk is slightly hilly but not very difficult. If you get to this main area from the west end of the lake and 280, the drive is very lovely countryside all the way. The rest area on the other side close to the dam is also a nice place to see the lake and have a picnic. There's some room for the kids to run around too.

Nice, very level lots. Very quiet setting. Would've been 5 stars but, (1) sewage hookup was uphill from site. It doesn't flow that way. And (2) saw no dumpster for trash on my way out so ended up taking it home.

The lake and surrounding area is beautiful. The grounds of Tappan Lake Park are well kept. As far as the cabin that we rented for 5 days, I'd be ashamed to open it to the public. There was no attention to detail in preparing a clean cabin for us. They knew over a month ago that we were coming. What a beautiful place, but.....the cabin could have used some better cleaning before our arrival. Since our arrival, we have been bitten and attacked by spiders! The outside windows & screens are covered with webs and bugs, with spiders crawling everywhere. The inside windows, entry door, corners of each room, and sky lights have thick webs with new and old bugs trapped. For the price we paid, the poor cleaning preparation has been a real disappointment and aggravation. :( We would come again for the boating and beauty of the well manicured park, but as far as renting an insect infested cabin, no thank you!

The park is very beautiful and peaceful. The start of our trip was a little crazy. We were directed by a young adult to the wrong area and the the female that was doing registration needs to brush up on manners and how to multitask. She was on the phone and made us wait about 5 mins and then we had to go get tag number. Great place but Rocky start.

The campgrounds, surrounding areas and everything in-between is absolutely fantastic. Great, beautiful land and wonderful open water. You really can't get a better vacation spot than this.Thank you for helping make my 21st birthday a good one, Tappan.
