Utterly unorganised, unfriendly. Due to covid excuse time table has been reduced drastically and the attendants expect you leaving your sit 20 minutes earlier then closing time to be able to clean. People responsible for this library didn't even bother to update the new time table online. You have to go and get the good surprise. This is embarrassing and show the degree of ignorance,lack of respect expanding over and more. We already knew the Tarifa Ayuntamiento does barely nothing, but this is disgraceful. If you have not already understood it,best job in Spain is to be funcionario estatal and barely have to study. For sure not at this library. Verguenza

This library is not young-child friendly (and the staff is quite rude). They do have a children's section, which is wide open and with an area for the children to sit and read, however, the children will have to read quietly and will have to whisper if they want to communicate, which won't be an issue if your child is older. I have a 1 and a 3 year old. We went to read some books, and had been there for no longer than 5 minutes. My children had not even talked yet as they were busy exploring the new space. My 3 year old then asked me in a regular voice if the library had Pete the Cat books. I had we should look. The librarian then came to me to tell me that the children had to be quiet. I know my children won't whisper (the 3yo can try, but not the 1yo) so I told the kids to get ready to go. She then started telling me that we could stay, and that other parents teach their children to be quiet and that the parents are quiet too (in a very condescending tone of voice). I was taken aback. Until this point, I thought it was odd that she was reprimanding us by telling us to be quiet (especially because there was only 1 other person at the library, and she was at the desk with the librarian), but I wasn't upset. I just said "thank you" and left. I think it took me some time to feel the full extent of her rudeness. My 3yo felt really bad about how the lady was talking to us and kept asking me why the lady was talking to us like that.
WiFi is very slow, it takes 10 minutes to load a website. Staff unwilling to help.
Quiet place and good for working
Biblioteca de Estilo Neomudéjar, un buen sitio para trabajar o estudiar. En la plaza de la Ranita.
La biblioteca es acogedora, los asientos son relativamente cómodos, ya que tiene una altura baja. El mayor problema es poder aparcar en la zona. Por lo general perfecto para su fin.
Es una biblioteca preciosa por su entorno y por el ambiente que se respira en ella. Tratan muy bien al usuario y son muy buenos profesionales. Hacen honor al buen funcionamiento del sector en España. Al salir hay un jardín pequeño y fresco.
Certamente uno dei posti più interessanti di Tarifa, in particolar modo d'Inverno, quando la comunità si raccoglie nella sua vera dimensione. Mi onoro di possedere la tessera della: Red de bibliotecas publicas de Andalucia. Junta de Andalucia, consejeria de cultura, dal Gennaio del 2006. Grazie.
