If you are wanting to learn Spanish in Tarifa look no further! Sofia was an absolutely fantastic tutor. During my two weeks of lessons she was patient, attentive, helpful and really jumpstarted my journey for learning Spanish. I cannot recommend her enough!
I did a week of private lessons with Sofia while kiting in Tarifa and found her to be an excellent teacher. Very structured and focussed on the most important things to get you understanding and speaking more confidently. Perfectly tailored to your level and very encouraging to feel a good progress in a short time. Her excellent value for money with her affordable rates would be tough to beat anywhere. Whenever I am back in Tarifa, I will definitely continue with Sofia and recommend her highly.
I started lessons with Sofia after finding her flyer in a hair dressing salon in the Old town of Tarifa, only a week after arriving in the country. From the moment I met her, I knew I would enjoy lessons and be able to come on a weekly basis. You see, I have two babies, a 2 and a 3 year old who wear much younger then and I needed someone who could meet me briefly at different hours, perhaps when the baby slept, when my husband was home, in a cafe nearby, anywhere and anytime. She is super flexible, and not only does she cover all grammar, giving you exercises and homework to do, but she really focuses on building your confidence up to be able to speak fluently and with confidence. Our classes are always in Spanish and we speak and write when necessary. I have been in Tarifa now for 18 months and I am now working in spanish doing communications. So she definitely helped me get there. I knew very little if any spanish prior to arriving here, although I have learnt other languages, in school and university and I can't tell you how great her lessons are for busy people (which is everyone these days) who need some flexibility. Plus she totally caters the lessons for your needs. I told her I wanted to speak - I didn't care much for grammar as I always do well at grammar and I never get a chance to speak a different language. She really catered my lessons to meet my needs. Thanks Sofia.. Plus she is a wonderful woman, very easy to get along with and whom you would enjoy having a coffee with anyway!
Sofia is a highly skilled teacher and also extremely ‘amable y simpatico’. She offers private tuition (at affordable rates) Each lesson is designed to meet your personal interests and levels. The lessons are well planned and delivered in a friendly, comfortable learning atmosphere. Before meeting Sofia, I had attended two language schools in Spain. Whilst they provided quite intense tuition and much background to the grammar of ‘español’, I felt the pace was too advanced and I came away rather overwhelmed and no confidence to ‘have a go’ when out in the community. Classes with Sofia have changed all of that for me. She provides what is needed to converse with local people and is building my confidence to ‘habla en español’. As Sofia is proficient at speaking English, she can clearly explain (when needed) certain aspects of the Spanish language/culture and answer my never ending questions. I am very grateful to have been introduced to Sofia and look forward to continuing classes with her for the next few months.
2 jaar geleden ontdekte wij (Suzanne en ik) de spaanse les bij Sofia, we ontmoete haar in een koffiebar in het centrum van Tarifa, sinds die dag is er een nieuwe wereld voor ons open gegaan in Tarifa, ik wist niet dat een taal leren zo leuk kon zijn. Naast de spaanse les help Sofia ons met allerlei praktische zaken waar een taal barrière is, of wanneer we weer in België / Nederland zijn. We zijn zeer dankbaar mee te mogen genieten van de haar gepassioneerde zuiderse vrije levensstijl.
