My 9 year old son has received enrichment from Sylvan's educational programs in the past at the Woodland Hills location which has now moved to Tarzana. His educational self-esteem had a big leap there and though at first he was hesitant, he began enjoying it in no time. During the Pandemic he joined the daily distant learning program at the new Tarzana location, I was happy to see how each student had their own area way afar from one another. At pick up time I'd witness the games they all played at a distance with masks on. He told me that hand washing and sanitizing hands and other protocols were big rules there. The director is super funny and involved with the kids' school assignments and he kept track of any assignment due and gave me print out of those. They offered tools for me to recognize the areas in which I could keep track with my son's classes. My son was caught again up in no time and loved the token system where he'd choose his own reward from the indoor gift shop. I've been very pleased with their Robotics in the past as well. If you're the type of parent who wants to support their child in academics and school ethics in a fun and innovative way, I highly recommend this location. Super fun, supportive with chances to apply themselves independently.

Both my kids attend 5th grade at an lausd elementary school. Teaching is nonexistent in covid 19 zoom land at lausd schools. Sylvan has helped both my kids with learning Eureka math and grammar punctuations. Sylvan is great because teachers are usually teaching the children in small groups or one on one and can help provide the basic education that is required which lausd is not delivering to our kids. Sylvan has helped my children understand the Eureka math and helped raise their grades. Thank you Sylvan Tarzana for the Great Teachers!!

Huge thanks and accolades to Brandon et al at sylvan Tarzana!! My son has been attending for a year now, and the program has been a lifesaver, especially during such a challenging time. I’ve noticed significant improvement in my son’s academic performance, concentration, and focus. Most importantly, he enjoys and is engaged with the experience because of the awesome ppl who work there. The staff genuinely care about each student and work with parents to ensure that the program is tailored to their individual child/schedule. They are flexible and communicative and it’s just an all around awesome place with great people! Thank you guys!!

When my son went from Elementary to Middle School, there were gaps in his learning and he struggled. Sylvan was able to pin point the gaps and help fill in the missing links. He is now more confidant in his work and in asking for help.

Let me start off with I believe my son is amazing, he's brilliant and funny and a wonderful kid, but LAUSD doesn't seem to agree. Rather than work with him they swept him by without even attempting to connect, aside from his first grade teacher who went above and beyond (Thank you Ms. Padilla), so we knew he needed help and after doing tons of research we landed at Sylvan in Woodland Hills. It's a smaller location, but it's warm and inviting and the administrative staff and the instructors are all so wonderful. I have seen such a remarkable improvement with his reading skills over the past two months, but the best improvement of all really has to be the huge improvement in his self esteem. Instead of saying "I can't read" he tries and if he doesn't get it he tries until he does. His schooling is reflecting the wonderful guidance he's been getting here and I'm proud of everything he has accomplished so far and will accomplish yet. Thank you Sylvan for everything. Wendy is an amazing administrator and her enthusiasm, care and concern are really something to be admired! I really can't say just how thrilled I am.

From experience I enjoy going to Sylvan. It has been a great experience and the teachers helped me realize with good instruction that I am able too do more than I expected and have had more success in school this year than before. Staci and her team will stop at nothing to make sure the students are successful and most of all have fun doing it.

I would definitely recommend the Woodland Hills Sylvan center to ANY high school student. I started with Sylvan six months ago and my grades have improved tremendously! The teachers are awesome! My parents and I are thrilled. I met with Staci, the director of the location, who was the initial reason I joined. Her passion for students to enjoy learning was impressionable. She is so fun and has such an interest for all of the students to succeed. I believe anyone would enjoy this environment.
