A terrific hidden scenic spot that is extremely remote and is not very well known even within Mie prefecture, let alone the rest of Japan. Park your car in the parking space on highway 311 and get ready for a full two hour trek for a spectacular view at the end. You cannot reach the huge rock and do not even try to because the drop will kill you. Do not go close to the edge if heights make you feel giddy. There are lot of ups and downs in between but shouldn't be a problem for people with normal fitness levels. Although great for a visit anytime of the year, I wouldn't recommend it on a rainy day.

4.4km walk out to the point and back takes you past huge camphor trees, groves of wild camellia and amazing rock formations. Once you get out to the point, you feel like you are far out to sea. Great any time of year.
ひとけが全然なく 千畳敷の断崖上で素晴らしい景色が見れます。 何時間でも、見続けられます。 千畳敷までは、アップダウンがそれなりに有るので 歩きやすい靴でないと危ない。 高速道路が近くまで伸びてきてアクセスのし易いさはかなり改善されてきました。 野生の鹿、猪が居るので道中は気をつけましょう。
新鹿IC側から行くと311号線が狭くて車の対向が出来ないような場所があります。駐車場まで車で行くなら賀田ICからの方がおススメです。
早足で約１時間かかります。絶景です。途中トイレは無いので要注意。
国道311号に駐車場があり、案内板、「楯ヶ崎」の表示があり、遊歩道とは名ばかりで、入り込むのが恐ろしいほど。・・そこで私は海岸沿いの道から(有)熊野養魚まで行き、その先の行き止まり地点から（道がないので）山をよじ登り「遊歩道」へと出た。 アップ、ダウンを繰り返し「阿古師神社」を経由して、さらに山中を歩くこと1時間30分程かけてようやく「二木島灯台」そして「楯ヶ崎」に到着。 楯ヶ崎は神武天皇上陸の地と伝えられているが、熊野灘にそそり立つ柱状節理で、とても船を着けて上陸できる様な所ではない。笹野島・楯ヶ崎を目標にしてその間を通り二木島湾に入り、浦母町・恵比寿神社または二木島町・牛頭天王社の付近に上陸したと云うのであれば理解できる。 2回目「行け」と言われても、「いきたくない！」
皆さんの「一見の価値あり」は本当です。柵が無くギリギリまで前に出れます。くれぐれも落ちないようにしましょう
