Beautiful ancient woodlands with lots of side trials to explore.

Excellent place to walk, although beware as the Forrestry Commission charge for the privelage to park. There are some excellent facilities with solid barbecue sites so you can come and spend the whole day while you play at damming the stream. There are many butterflies and dragonflies to see in summer. The circular walk around the wood is not too long although whatever way you go there are decent accents but after a few visits these will be no problem. From the wood it us possible to walk to Truscombe Stone or up to the Dead Woman Ditch area and the Drove. Wills Neck and Lydeard Hill are also close by.
