It was very enlightening. We were shown a short film with English subtitles on what Tavira was like many years before Portugal became a country of her own. Then we were left to go around the museum and wonder at the artifacts, with a written guide in English to help us understand what we were looking at. If one has a smart phone, you can get this to translate the information on the plaques for you. We spent about 3/4hr, taking in the information and on leaving, we then went around some of the back streets which still show relics of the Arabic /Moorish architecture. The cost is 2 or 1, if you are over 65. So not expensive and therefore well worth a visit.

A must visit place to get to know the past of Tavira.
Vale a pena!
