Car troubles had us stay a bit longer in Tavira than what we had expected and the entire staff at Pousada Convento Tavira was super nice and made sure we had everything we needed to have a great time while we waited for the car repair. The entire hotel is thoughtfully merged with the old building architecture, surrounding area and old castle wall and offers a constant sensation of peacefulness and harmony. Pool area was bigger than expected and also has lots of green space. We tried the restaurant for a lunch snack and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the offered food. We’ll definitely back here next time we’re in Tavira.

Beautiful hotel in an old convent. Nice linens and very clean. Great breakfast buffet with a variety of standard and Portuguese delicacies. Very friendly and helpful staff. Christmas cake served in the lobby. Very central location in Tavira.

Lovely place to stay. It’s a former convent renewed into an hotel, a “poussada” in Portuguese. The room was big enough with a nice bathroom covered with marble. small TV, sound system with jack for the bathroom. Into the poussada you can find a nice swimming pool and a very charming cloister. And a Restaurant and a bar of course. Also an ATM if you need cash. The breakfast was good with enough choice to please everyone.

Lovely hotel. Historic, beautiful, and comfortable. Loved the pool and dining outside in the cloisters. It's perfectly located with easy access to town. Tavira is a gem!!

Our taxi dropped us outside on a quiet rainy December afternoon. The receptionist welcomed us in and the bar staff showed us to a small museum. Very calm and tranquil experience. Would love to stay for a night!
