I’m an active duty military member on emergency leave in Florida for a death in the family. Our home of record is in Florida at my fathers house. We vote for Indian river county. Me and my wife were married in Florida. I’m currently stationed in Massachusetts. We have both have expired fl licenses with a military extension card that makes them valid so long as I am active duty military. With an appointment made well in advance we attempted about to renew our licenses so we wouldn’t have to carry the extension cards any more. We provided for both myself and my wife, valid military IDs, expired fl licenses with the military extension card that makes them valid, birth certificates, and social security cards. The person running the desk was rude and we were turned away because we didn’t have a marriage license or pieces of mail to prove our residence in Indian river county. We were just trying to renew our already existing fl licenses. How am I supposed to provide pieces of mail when I’m stationed in Massachusetts. How many pieces of identification do you need? Give me a freaking break. I’m ashamed of how active duty military is treated in my own county of residence.

Being new to Vero Beach (Indian River County) I tried to get some information this morning about transferring/registering a boat and trailer at the DMV. There is a voice mail by Mrs Jordan stating we are really busy and the you can visit their website. Their website does not contain all information that may be required for a smooth transaction. This is unacceptable even during this pandemic. Taxpayers should require immediate change to this ineffective policy immediately. This is no way to win re-election by Mrs Jordan!
