If you live in the Southern Pine service area you need to have a whole house generator. Southern Pine covers about 85% of the year. The generator should be considered part of your utility plan. The generator will cover the 15% annual outage time. We have have been in this area for 50 years. It has always been that way. They left my 88 year old mother without power for 7 days with a hot wire down for 3 days after that. A generator is the only solution, as the management of this company dosen't have the skills to change or improve it.

I work out of town quite a bit and was informed by my neighbor last month that lights were off at my home. This was due to non payment on my part which was a slip however the bill was paid in full to include the reconnect fee the day after the disconnect. A week or so after paying the bill I had a law enforcement colleague stop by the property to make sure everything was in order. When he entered the home he noticed that the lights were still off and that perishable items in my refrigerator and deep freezer had spoiled. This should not have been the case being that I paid the bill and reconnect less than 24 hours after the disconnect. I reached out to Southern Pine customer service for assistance and course they had no explanation as to why this happened. They simply said that they were sorry and didn't know what happened. I wish there were other options for power in the area like there is here in Texas. Unfortunately you're stuck with these Joker's if you have property in that part of Mississippi. If you're dealing with this company you may want to invest in a generator or solar panels. I'm just saying , really Southern Pine. Get it together.

Southern Pine is by far the worst provider in the state. Any time it rains or the wind picks up the power goes out for extended periods. The customer service is horrible and the dispatchers are rude and short with you. Infact the service is so terrible it is the reason I am moving. To anyone hoping to move into Southern pines jursidiction, I hope you see this and think twice. If you live in their area and want consistent power then I suggest buying an inhome generator capable or running everything because its the only way to have consistency. Oh and to make matters worse even on a clear day the power surges multiple times so be sure to have anything important hooked up to a surge protector. As the people stated before me if I could leave a negative review I would. One star is far too good a review for this company.

Like others, I wish I could leave NEGATIVE stars. This providers customer service is close to nonexistent, must call multiple times to report an outage IF they ever answer, will leave you without power for days for a very simple fix. If its thundering or windy, you can bet you'll be without power with this company. Some of the worst dispatchers in the NATION. Rudely address you or hang up on you when you FINALLY get through to them.
