I too went to camp here. My mom saw it in Sunset magazine back when Sunset Magazine was a seriously credible reference. Pre-internet. Very fancy. Very expensive. I was there for a month one summer and the highlight was leaving. Cliques of mean-teens who don't let new people feel comfortable, learn the culture of the camp, or participate because they feel they own the place. Kids stole my new Ariat riding boots and scratched them in an attempt to haze me. Damaged my property and handed them right back to me. That brazenly. Food was awful. I complained enough that they made me work in the kitchen one day. They thought they were punishing me, but I ate well that day and didn't have to do their farm chore nonsense. This camp helped me establish life policies I've kept all these years. Camp? No. Be dragged on a tube behind a boat? No. A clear vision of my younger self as a fully urban person? YES! Confidence to stand on my own 1000%? Yes yes yes. 0/10. Do not recommend. Eeesh.

I attended summer camp at Walking G for 3 awesome summers in the late 80s. SO many memories and life lessons learned by Dave's quiet yet stern approach. The landscape is gorgeous and the property was always well maintained. Dave Newcomb (rest in peace) was someone that I fell privileged to have met and learned from.
