Great banter, good haircut friendly staff
Fairly expensive haircut for an OK-ish service. I'm not familiar with New Zealand hair dresser's prices, but I paid 25 for a 15 minute men's haircut. It's a fairly small place, but feels cozy. As I arrived there Tracy, one of the hair dressers, greeted me and seated me in one of the chairs. She started asking me questions of which kind of machine endings would I like to use to trim my lower part of my head. I said that I don't really care as she's the professional. She laughed it off by saying: "Once I cut it off, I can't put it back on!", and then insisted that we talk about machine endings. After we concluded I don't really understand the difference between 2 and 4, she opted out for 4, and we proceeded with my hair cut. I was unpleasently suprised by the lack of friendly banter between a customer and the hair dresser, but she did shout a couple of jokes to the customer and the hair dresser sitting behind us, as she was listening to their conversation the entire duration of my haircut. I barely managed to hold on to my horses as she used the comb to prepare my hair for cutting throughout the procedure, as I felt as a Tyrannosaurus Rex was using its claws to comb my hair. Perhaps I should have told her to be more gentle, but I was too autistic to utter a word. My girlfriend likes the haircut, I think it's OK, so I guess I won't judge too much based on one visit.
Good place for a haircut in town. Even though they have twice the staff as the other shop nextdoor, you still might need to wait 30-60 minutes as a walk-in. The stylist was friendly and I left happy with my haircut!
