This was a decent Tempura restaurant for the price. 55 will get you shrimp, 2 fish and 12 vegetables. This is my 2nd time having tempura in Japan. The 1st time cost me over 100 so I opted for a cheaper version. Although this was an okay experience I would say that I wouldn’t do it again. The price you pay for simple ingredients that is fried in batter is not enough to justify the experience. There is a lot more interesting food in Japan and both my experience with this style of cooking at its price point leaves me wanting more.

Nice tempura place, tucked away behind some other buildings in this cute alley. We went for lunch on a Monday, so it was pretty quiet, but it's a nice set-up with seats around a u-shaped counter and the chef frying tempura in the middle. The lunch set menu is great value for money at 3000 jpy, including 11 pieces of tempura, appetizers, salad, rice bowl, soup and dessert. Just make sure you come before 2pm as that's the last order time for lunch!
The servers can speak barely any English. It suggested to bring a Japanese friend, but the Kyoto style tempura is out of this world. Set menus start at 50,000 JPY.
Great tempura place, cooked in front of seats, chef is very friendly. Worth a visit.
The chef was wonderful super nice and welcoming . I really enjoyed the tempura . I went during lunch, in was nice and intimate . The customers as the service were very nice.
