It felt just like going back in time. The staff were very helpful, even producing steps to help get on and off the train. The journey went from Tenterden to Bodium and back. It didn't stop at the in between stations as it would normally have done but that didn't bother us. We had 20 minutes at Bodium station where we could get out and stretch our legs before heading back. We didn't get to look at the shop at Bodium but went in the one at Tenterden station and unfortunately this was awful. It's tiny and there were way too many people in it so no social distancing. It was full of tat and not much KESR merchandise to be purchased. That said, it was a really lovely afternoon out and would love to do it again sometime.

Well worth a look if you are in the area. Time it right you could see a steam train arrive. Plan ahead and you can take a ride on one. Kids absolutely love it. Great icecream available in the station cafe too.

Have been enjoying Sunday lunch on the K & E Sussex Railway for over 10 years - it is ALWAYS a wonderful relaxing few hours. Food deeelicious and staff so welcoming.

Very well preserved line that is run very enthusiastically by volunteers. Beautiful open countryside to see along the line and there’s a castle at one end too! Check out the special events - the ale festival in June with bands is great fun!! It’s good 2 hour round trip - a lot longer than most heritage lines. The heritage rail car is great - you get a fab view of the line, arrive early if it’s running to get a front (or back) row seat and take it all in! If you want to ride different trains you need to change at Wittersham if three trains are running. It’s a light railway - so engines are smaller but it’s still great to see them!
