Excellent sushi and service
Food is good and the little show of cooking in front of you is worth a visit, our children loved it and I wouldn't hesitate to repeat to get them used to different food. The service was excellent and readily available, something you many times miss around here.
I can thoroughly reccomend this spotless restaurant to anyone considering Japanese food for the first time, or at any other time. It is especially suitable for groups, as well as more intimate dining and the atmosphere is bright and cheerful. Do not think that Japanese food is all sushi and cold rice, because it most certainly isn't. From the moment you walk in to the restaurant the service is attentive and excellent. The menu can seem a little daunting at first, but be adventurous and try one of the tasting menus as opposed to the ordinary dishes. There are several of these set menus which include either numerous fish or meat dishes; PLUS hors d'oeuvres, starters, miso soup, salad, rice, desert, coffee and liqueur. At first sight these appear to be a little expensive, i.e. around 19.50 per head, compared to an ordinary meal, but as they comprise around 8 to 10 courses, you can be absolutely assured that they represent tremendous value. I took my adult children to the restaurant in November 2007 and after the unfounded 'sushi' apprehension they declared, on completion, that it was the finest food they had ever tasted. I support their claim! The Japanese chefs are startling. They are highly trained and clearly expert at their work. All fresh meat, fish and vegetables are cooked right in front of you on a griddle. The restaurant seating is arranged around three sides of a griddle and there are several griddles in the restaurant. The chef and his cooking art are the attraction. You cannot help but watch every move and it is very entertaining. Highly reccomended. Regards, Rick
