I couldn’t recommend this place enough! At first I it looks like just a gravel lot in the desert, but you soon realize it’s a great location that serves as a convenient base camp to both the National and state park as well as Terlingua. It’s well maintained with plenty of space between campers. It’s within easy walking distance to a couple restaurants, a liquor store, a honkey tonk bar, and a horse stable where you can book horse rides. It doesn’t have toilets or showers, but that’s what your camper is for. They do have the best WiFi I’ve ever used at any RV camp anywhere (note: the closer you are to the camp host on site 6 the stronger the signal). But the best part is gathering around the communal fire pit and chatting up your neighbors while watching the sun set over the mountains and the stars come out (bring your camera!). The owners are super nice and accommodating and have quite the inspirational story. Don’t forget to sign the water tank before you leave!
