Polystyrene (PS) value-chain partners have a strong desire to contribute to the Circular Economy and meet the requirements by ensuring sustainable recycling. In the PolyStyreneLoop project over 68 European entities have united to achieve this goal. The objective is to develop a safe and closed-loop treatment process for PS foam waste, creating as an output new raw materials that can be reused in new products. A key project deliverable will be an industrial scale demonstration plant located in the Netherlands. The PolystyreneLoop initiative is funded through the entire value chain and has received a grant under the umbrella of the EU initiated LIFE Subsidy program, the project is known under LIFE-PSLoop LIFE16ENV/NL/000271
