We visited several nursing homes before selecting The Phoenix. My brother-in-law has dementia and it is was hard to find a place for him. Other places had really small dining areas with unappetizing looking food or smelled of urine. When we visited Oceanview (now The Phoenix) the staff was friendly, the facility was clean and it smelled good. As we were leaving, the food services manager was in the lobby. He was a friend we had not seen for a couple of years. He said this was a good home. Since then we have been able to see the food and the diverse menu choices. The second floor dementia area is roomy and the staff has been so good to our relative. With COVID restricting our visits we were pleased to know that the home has been virus free. Russell the administration manager has been awesome Keeping us posted on the health and conditions at the Phoenix. He even took a iPad to the room so my wife could see and talk to her brother. Every time we have visited Stacy and her crew were busy cleaning. There are several really good nurses in the dementia area. We are well pleased. Charles and Marcia

Just a highlight reel-and the tip of the iceberg of the care that provided here at the Phoenix. Tim, the Dietary Manager, daily goes above his calling. He rounds with the resident's multiple times a day, & also leads some of the activities that go on, & is diligent on attending to any needs that arise. He truly cares for every single person that stays here. Russell, the Administrator is unlike any I've ever worked with. He personally attends to any concern that any patient, family member, or employee may have, & sees it through. He often states \it's the little things\, & I know that he takes that to heart & works hard to instill this in the rest of the staff, & I know the residents feel this too. April is the Director of Nursing, & she is driven to ensure that the best quality care is provided. She has immense attention to detail, & goes out of her way to ensure that all bases are covered with the patient's medical needs. She coordinates & oversees all the care here at the Phoenix, with the help of Linda, & Emma, the Assistant Directors of Nursing, both of which have had many years of experience. Emma is also our (daily) Wound Care Nurse & rounds weekly with our Specialty Wound Care Physician. Toni is the Admissions Coordinator & helps guides patient's & their families through the admission process. Nothing gets left behind with her. Every question is attended to, even ones you may have not known to ask. It can be a tough for patients & their families when they are ill, worrying about financials & how to receive care. Toni ensures calming guidance through every step of the way- whether the care is here or elsewhere. This list is not exhaustive, but just a limited view on the amazing people I get to work along side of to provide care for your loved ones.

These are difficult times we are in. It was a gut wrenching decision for me to make to move my mom into skilled nursing facility. However I cannot think of a better place to have my mom. The folks working at Phoenix Acute Care are phenomenal and take great care of her. Most importantly, my mother is happier than she has been in a very long time.

Words are not enough to mention how great The Phoenix is, from the bottom to the top staffs this facility goes above and beyond to make sure everything is okay with their service. My mother in law has dementia and for over 4 years 24/7 I was the only hope she had at time. My husband always traveling to work. It put a tremendous toll on me, she was way too much spoiled and finally I convinced my husband that we need to get a new home for her, some place that would treat mom with dignity and love because I was drained and couldn’t provide it to her anymore. At beginning my husband didn’t wanna accept, so I had to search for The Best place that would take Medicare insurance AND treating the residents with dignity and love. The Phoenix was the Winner and Excelled all what we were looking for mom. Today, she seems to be the Queen of attention through their staffs always available and willing to help her with her personal needs even when she’s on her bad mood. My mother in law now is happy, smiling, playing and having a great quality of life. The iPad deal was one of the best Phoenix offers to the residents to be able to communicate with the family while during this pandemic situation. Russell is always on top to make sure residents are been treated and provided the best. All nurses are F.A.N.T.A.S.T.I.C and very knowledgeable. I couldn’t mention everyone names because I don’t remember but they are always great. My main contact is with Laura, Jackie and Linda and my mother in law love them as if they were her family. My husband now travel to work and doesn’t even bother thinking about his mom because he knows Phoenix staff are taking good care of his mom and we’re always in touch.

The staff, the nurses and hospice nurses provided excellent care for my brother. His nurses called with daily detailed updates which helped so much due to Covid restrictions for visitors. I appreciate the compassion, patience and kindness.
