Our dealings with this company were not good: Poor communication, and very poor workmanship. This culminated in a complaint that was investigated by Derbyshire Trading Standards officers. Everything was resolved in our favour, and the company no longer appears on Derbyshire Trading Standards ‘Trusted Trader’ list. Our next dealing with the company was initiated by them over 6 months later. They sent an email to a third party regarding our previous dealings which we felt attempted to damage and harm my reputation. This email was then sent to me. I immediately sought legal advice and a cease and desist was issued. Despite being issued with the cease and desist and warned that lawyers were involved, a representative of the company then wrote a statement on line which was spotted by pure chance by a third party who felt it was libellous and notified us. Our lawyers agreed with this view and they are now pursuing this matter. I am also separately preparing a file for Trading Standards as we believe that the actions of this company in their dealings with us – a bona fide customer - could be considered as aggressive and/or unfair practices under the Consumer Protection Act. We note that for a company claiming to have traded for so long, not one positive review appears to exist. Finally, throughout this ordeal we have given clear warning that we will always do the right thing to protect ourselves (and other consumers), but have balanced this by looking for fair resolution throughout. This has not been reciprocated, and instead at each twist and turn (always initiated by them) the company seems intent in causing itself even more grief. I’m at a total loss as to why this company would want to do this to a customer (and themselves) and have this be their legacy…
