One among the five temples dedicated to Lord Rama in Kerala, the Thiruvangad Sree Ramaswamy Temple is unique in every aspect. Known as ‘Brass Pagoda’ due to the copper sheeting of its roof, the temple holds many intriguing sculptures and lithic records. Noted for its intricate wood carvings, terracotta artwork and mural paintings carved on wooden planks on its ceilings, the shrine is a perfect example of artistic excellence. The presiding deity is Lord Vishnu and the idol here is carved out in Krishna Shila (Black Stone). The annual festival of the temple begins on Vishu day (Kerala New Year) in Medam (mid-April – mid-May) and lasts for seven days. The temple is located at Thalassery in Kannur district of Kerala.

Beautiful place. Calm and serene temple compound. Though not so religious i meditated for ten minutes. A huge clean n well maintained pond which tempts you to take a dip and dive. Everything that befits a holy sanctorum.

Very nice temple and it's premises! Especially in the month of April! Vast temple ground and pond with near to perfectly clean water! A temple where famous personalities render concerts and spiritual talks!

Pleaceful atmosphere. Best attraction is wide temple pond. Best opted for pre wedding temple shoot. Vast area available. Must visit temple in thalassery.

It's a very calm place with a lot of space to walk around .. with a huge temple pond free for public access. It is not so all imposing as other religious places.
