A really interesting museum that is light and spacious and set over 4 floors. A small, temporary exhibition on bears in children's literature has some beautiful original artwork. The remaining floors are closely linked to the history and development of the town and the surrounding area. There are interactive displays most of which are working and an excellent view over the harbour. We spent two hours there but children would find less to keep them interested.

Small ,friendly museum. The staff could not have been more helpful. My wife and I could have spent much more time at the museum, unfortunately we didn't have the time. Set out on 4 floors which are accessible by a lift for the disabled and a mezzanine floor which is served by another lift. Each floor tells a different story. The one about Sellafield is especially interesting. Well worth a visit.
The man at the desk gave use an informative run down of what was in the museum. Everything was very clean and being cleaned as we went round. Good views of Whitehaven. Small but charming reasonable price for what was there
This place is so much larger than you think! The exhibits are brilliant so make sure you give yourself a good 1-2 hours to go round. Lovely staff too!
Brilliant place for all the family. Loads to see and do. Very interactive for kids. We spent 4 hours here. Cafe was excellent. Lovely food, great service and yummy cakes. Absolutely recommend.
