Used to go to the outlet in Tanjong Pagar but first time in GW. Last time used to taste so much better but unfortunately the standard drop quite a bit (for the price I am paying). The babi ponteh is quite hard, likely didn’t cook Long enough. The kepitin soup is quite bland. The chap Chye still quite good. The vegetables is really soft and gravy is nice. Otah and the kueh Pie tee is ok. I like the sauce of the ayam panggan. The ambience is nice and cosy. Staff is attentive as well. Good place to hangout w friends.

Not sure why other reviewers weren’t happy with their experience because I had a great lunch here! Got the chap chye, babi pongteh, ayam panggang, beef rendang and buah keluak fried rice for 4 pax. Everything was great! The ayam panggang was their signature dish but it really paled in Comparison to the others. Could consider giving it a miss next time. The best was the buah keluak fried rice — the wok hey and flavours came together so well. Beef rendang, chap chye and babi pongteh went really well with the white rice. My only suggestion is for the beef rendang to come with less oil, had to take out the oil myself cuz it was quite a bit! Achar and belacan came along with the white rice and it’s free flow at 2.80 per pax if I’m not wrong. Service was great and prompt from a young man, the other servers were fine. Overall great experience and will definitely come again! Portions are indeed on the smaller side though, but it filled a party of 4 nicely.

Good variety of menu items, flavours were complex and on point. Portion sizes were good for sharing and tasting more stuff. Slightly pricey but worth the quality.

Celebrated a friend's bridal shower at The Blue Ginger (GWC). We enjoyed the food and were very impressed by the service. Kudos to the 2 staff who served us this evening! Thank you for making our dining experience pleasant and memorable :)

The place was not crowded when we arrived on a Sunday evening and we were seated quickly. Food was good but pricey. Server told us the portions were small and recommended ordering more, but we were a family of small eaters. Despite the small portions sizes the dishes ended up a little too much for the 5 of us. The eggplant was awesome (hands down the best diesel of the day). Fried rice was not what I expected and pretty tasty. The beef rendang was tender. The blue ginger chicken was flavourful. The laksa wasn't a soup version but was still pretty good. Kueh Pie Tee was topped with a piece of prawn and seemed to have a different flavor profile (bamboo shoots and turmeric, i think). The otah didn't have that barbecue taste (maybe it was steamed) and was oddly springy. The deserts were not bad, the Durian Chendol was especially enjoyable. The food came with sambal belachan and Achar, and a seemingly free flow of rice (included in the misc charges). All of us ate a little too much this meal. All in all a place worth coming again.

The food is awesome! Quick to serve, friendly staff. However good stuff comes with price. 2 pax with 5 bowl of dish and 2 drinks, cost 120. will visit next time.

Not a bad attempt at Peranakan cuisine. My wife's family is Peranakan so I know the food and no way this will get 5 stars, but decent attempt. Babi pongteh was very good. Beef rendang not bad, as was the ngor hiang. The toufu was soso. Chilli belachan is solid. Not cheap for what it is. Would give 3.5 stars but option not available. Not sure why this is on the Michelin Guide frankly - panel doesnt know local food perhaps.
