My daughter has been dancing at The City Ballet School for 10 years. It’s her home away from home. Her time at City has not only provided her with excellent dance instruction but it has also has taught her discipline, respect and commitment. The studio offers excellent instruction in ballet, jazz, hip hop, modern and tap. Twice a year, dancers have the opportunity to participate in 2 full length ballet productions, each performed at the Maryland Theater. If you are looking for a pre-professional ballet school or just looking to satisfy your child’s love of dance, The City Ballet School is the place.

We have been a part of the City Ballet family for six years. Our daughters both started at City as preschoolers, and we were immediately blown away by what City had to offer. City’s dance pedagogy, which is used for all types of dance and levels of instruction from preschool to adult, strives to not only develop the dancer from a physical perspective, but integrates physical, intellectual, creative, and emotional aspects that are the foundation of a quality dance education. Dancers learn work ethic, respect, responsibility, discipline, and confidence. City’s unique training program is unmatched in the area, with all faculty providing a safe and individualized experience for each student as they advance through the curriculum.

Our dancer receives excellent instruction here. The attention to detail shown by the instructors is very impressive. They've shown a genuine interest in getting to know our dancer as an individual. They really care and we've seen constant, steady development over the years under their professional, watchful eye. It's been remarkable. When corrections are necessary, I've seen them done professionally and without drama. They make sure our dancer knows not just what was wrong, but give ideas on how to do it better, if not sure. I have the utmost confidence in the instruction here.

City Ballet has an excellent dance program for children of all ages. The caliber of dance education is the best in the area with highly qualified teachers from various backgrounds. Students are fortunate to learn from faculty that have not only performed on Broadway but have choreographed pieces performed on legendary stages and that have taught master classes in the U.S and abroad.
