Lovely sandy and pebbly beach that has a rickety causeway going out to sea. The toilets are still open during the pandemic which is helpful, however the parking has been suspended at the sea front. So check before driving. When the tide is out the sea bed is covered in shellfish.

Love this area of the beach. Lovely atmosphere, great place to stretch the legs and take your dog and kids for a stroll. Theres a walkway all the way along the coast to leigh.
Interesting vibe. Nice ice cream. Toilets a bit manky. A lot of crazy people who thought it was appropriate to be swimming in freezing cold temperatures
day or night, stormy or sunny... same lovely place.
A wonderful beach, 1 hour from North London. Peaceful not as busy as Southend. There 2 restaurants - one we tried & had gorgeous food - the Beach hut & there’s a place offering ice cream & similar. In April the water went away after lunch & we were left with a lovely beach for kids to play on. Very welcoming atmosphere. Dogs are not welcomed on the beach after 1st May. There are public toilets.
Fantastic walk along the beach with family, relaxing and chilling with lovely views.⁹
Historic place of beauty with the occasional seals visiting sand banks.
