the paper refuses to cover imperative local issues and news and wonders why its in a downward spiral towards bankruptcy. when you can call a paper ahead of a crime being committed and let them know that it will occur and they still wont cover it after it happens....then we are not dealing with people who are interested in informing our community on anything-just figuring out how to sell ads. if the herald started covering real news, the ads would sell themselves. My roofing company wont advertise with them because they hide police corruption issues from the public. if that changes, we will advertise with them

I cannot even believe this - The Durango Herald is CHARGING 500 to post obituary. That is a racket and absolutely terrible. What a crime to charge grieving people that much to post an obituary they wrote themselves. Absolutely a crime. This is terrible - how horribly sad to see this.

The Durango Herald is a newspaper that strives to engage in and with the community while providing balanced news - and they have a darn fine Arts and Entertainment section, to boot. Full disclosure: While I lived in Durango, I was a staff writer for DGO Magazine, the lovely alt weekly that the Herald's parent company publishes. It was an honor to work in a newsroom that consistently engaged with the community through outreach, events, and local reporting.

The Durango Herald loves to hurt people. They also love to ruin lives. I hope they feel good about what they've done to people. This is the most one-sided newspaper I have seen. That's not a surprise since it is a very small town. Small town small minds. right?

If i could i would give them negative stars just like the paper they put out. Don't believe anything they say or write. This paper is highly bias and does not fact check well!
